Celebrating Our 52nd Year of Dance!
The American Academy of Ballet, under the direction of Maris Battaglia, recently celebrated its 50th anniversary. More than 147 students have gone on to achieve prominent careers across the States, Canada and Europe in dance companies, television and the Broadway stage. We are proud to continue that tradition throughout the many years to come! The Academy's success and continued philosophy over the years is that "love and discipline can work together in a warm and caring atmosphere to provide positive experiences that will last a lifetime."

Ballet in Buffalo
Celebrating the 50th anniversary of my studio was a very emotional happening. It seems like every day I would dissolve in tears over some touching card, letter or an unexpected gift. Nothing touched me more than an amazing book called "Ballet in Buffalo" that my advanced class put together for me. It was truly a work of love and it began 10 months before the actual performance. From summer to fall, winter to spring, they would gather together to take photographs in some of Western New York's most beautiful places. From the Albright Knox to the Botanical Gardens, from the Burchfield Penny Arts Center to Niagara Falls, in warm and sunny to bitter cold weather, these amazing students had photographs taken of them in order to present me with this beautiful book. It sits on my coffee table in our living room and will remain there as a lasting testimony to the love we have shared for so many years. Thank you, my beautiful girls. You have truly touched my heart. Love you, Ms. Maris
